With roots in the pioneering spirit of West Jutland and proud traditions of craftsmanship, we welcome you to genuine, local bakery craftsmanship all year round. As an independent baker with his own sourdough and focus on quality, master baker Martin Thygesen has since 2006 continued and developed the best Danish baking traditions in Hvide Sande.

In our cozy shop on Fyrvej and our two outlets, you’ll find freshly baked bread and rolls, a large selection of cakes and pastries and seasonal specialties every day. From the coarse ancient rye bread to the fresh strawberry pies of summer – everything is baked from scratch with love for the craft and respect for tradition.

As an active part of the local community, we value good relationships – with the townspeople, our many loyal guests and our partners in the area. Stop by and experience the smell of freshly baked rolls when the harbor wakes up and the city starts to stir.

A pioneer

Martin Thygesen, master baker and owner of Hvide Sande Bageri, is known as an energetic entrepreneur with deep roots in Holmsland Klit. In 2006, he bought his old apprenticeship and made it his own. Originally located on the corner of Metheasvej and Stormgade, but moved to modern premises on Fyrvej in 2008. In addition to the bakery, Martin also runs Hvide Sande Bike, which offers bicycle and electric bike rental in summer cottage areas from Henne Strand to Vedersø Klit.

The craft

Martin Thygesen was originally trained by his predecessor Ole Christensen, and the basic bakery craftsmanship and love of good Danish baking traditions are still the cornerstones of the company. Danish flour is used and the breads are baked with their own sourdough. At the same time, the master baker is never afraid to play with new techniques and ingredients, and there is always a focus on optimizing and energy-optimizing production.

Bread

At Hvide Sande Bageri, the bread is baked with their own sourdough, giving it an airy structure and unique taste. Master baker Martin Thygesen is streamlining production, but still retains the traditional long-term baking, which gives wheat bread, rye bread and specialty bread a true Danish bakery quality.

Rolls

For many West Jutlanders and guests, the morning roll is a religion. Every morning when the harbor wakes up, we’re ready with freshly baked rolls, artisan rolls, salty rolls, poppy seed rolls, chunky rolls and pumpkin rolls. Once you get used to the baker’s freshly baked, the supermarket bake-off is never quite the same.

In the bakery shop and bakery outlet you will find a large selection of pastries, pies, cakes, cream cakes, cookies and other treats for the sweet tooth

Celebration cakes

We deliver for any occasion: party, wedding, children’s birthday party, event, reception or presentation. Stop by the bakery and talk to the pastry chef about what’s possible.

Our Christmas cookies and spiced cakes are winter favorites, while fruit and strawberry pies in summer capture the taste of Danish summer for Hvide Sande’s guests

Hvide Sande Bageri

You’ll find Hvide Sande Bageri centrally located on the harbor in Hvide Sande, where we have gathered our bakery shop and production facilities at Fyrvej 10. With very few exceptions, we are open every morning from 6 am until late afternoon.

Bakery sale Klegod

In Klegod, you will find our bread outlet directly on Holmsland Klitvej: the main road between Søndervig and Hvide Sande, where we share a building with West Wind Outlet. The bread shop is open during the summer season and over New Year.

Bakery sale Houvig

In the Houvig holiday home area, just north of Søndervig and Lalandia, you’ll also find our bread shop right next to Klitvejen. The cycle path from Søndervig goes right to the door. The bread shop is open during the summer season and over New Year.

Association work

Hvide Sande Bageri is an active part of the local community, with bakery manager Martin Thygesen volunteering in several associations and boards. The company is also a supportive sponsor of local associations and sports clubs.
